Though we wanted to be, Burning Man did not give us a spot at Decompression this year. (Well they did, actually, then they took it away because they have one less sound area this year due to a new condo complex on Indiana.) They said we’d been there too many years in a row, which I thought was quite fair since we’ve kinda been showing up for BM big every year too, so it made sense. Not to BM logic (or lack thereof). Anyhoot, we could use a day off anyway, and we’ll save our mojo for the night.

We WILL be doing our annual after party at Mighty as an Opulent Temple fundraiser starting at 9pm. Every year we’ve had some great surprises as friends like DJ Dan and the Scumfrog have shown up. Who knows what might happen this year?
So far the line up includes OT homies.

Evolution: A Tangled Bank

Black Rock City, NV

2:00 & ‘B’ (Biology)

Welcome to the 7th evolution of Opulent Temple. We’re happy to be back with you. We build this space for sacred dance to world class music. We invite you to utilize this creation as a context for inner search as well as community bonding. For ridiculous fun, new friendships and celebration to the shared beat of a universal vibe. We hope you touch the part of you that feels no fear and knows no death.

Camps like ours aren’t allowed to apply for grants and so are entirely self funded by the community and the camp members. We could use your help if you want to pitch in by donating (see donation widget in sidebar). Every dollar counts (and we’ll send you live recordings from past years as a thank you.)

We can’t wait to see you under the stars, bathed in fire light.

After the last 2 years of rocking Opulent Temple out in BRC, Christopher has stepped up to give us a chance to come back in ’09 (which is not a foregone conclusion, and is solely dependent on fund raising). He is the undisputed biggest name in American trance, and has developed his own hard hitting sound that keeps him trotting the globe in high demand. Because he plays Ruby in SF, we’re joining up with Spundae’s Friday night party for a special benefit event for the camp.
