We all need some light to cleanse dark times over with music and one another. This is our 16th straight year of coming to Burning Man as a crew. 13 of which we’ve produced our large scale sound camp. Now we’re back on the 10:00 corner in full opulent effect. It’s a community effort with home grown production and talents. Take care of each other out there! Please enjoy the Sacred Dance to World Class Music. We thank you for all of your support!

See you at 10:00 & Esplanade

DaVinci’s Workshop

Black Rock City, NV

10:00 & Donatello

Opulent Temple returns, for Chapter 14 at Burningman, to bring our vision of sacred dance to world class music in the desert. Thanks for taking this ride with us! We still give the gift of the extensive effort because of the community and the co-created vibe. Our goal is to connect and awaken, and to bring that back into the default world all year round. Especially in an election year, the need for conscious people taking action is a responsibility we all share.

We’re not trying to be the biggest and the baddest this year, but just do our Opulent thing and bring our vibe and invite anyone that wants to come find us to be a part of it. (So come find us at 10&D) Thank you all for your on going support of us and our events so that we can be here to do what we do. See you on the dance floor, under the stars and the fire.

See you at 10:00 & Donatello

Musical Styles: Progressive Tech House, Techno

If ancient tribal warriors could listen to a dj during their nightly bonfire parties, they’d probably listen to ELiKi.

ELiKi has been working with music since he could hardly remember. From Mastering all types of instruments, to being a front man in a punk rock band, to starting a hip hop crew, he’s done it all. A recent addition to the Opulent Temple group of resident DJs, EliKi brings to the table a nice blend of house and techno to keep the hips shaking and the vibe sexy.

Metatek

Musical Styles: Techno and Progressive.

To free you from the self using that split second on the dance floor when you forget you are a person and you become one with the sound waves” and rest assured his thumping progressive and techno style come through and accomplish just that.

Drawing influence from travels around the world, Asia to Africa, Europe and South America, JB Vries’ motivations have always been based in rhythm and melody. Growing up in the Midwest United States he knew early on his life’s direction would be a musical one and with this in mind he took his show on the road. While studying Audio Engineering in Florida, he began learning the art mixing in the studio as well as a DJ in the Orlando nightclub and underground dance scene.

Producing a variety of dance genres, all with a driving and psychedelic undertone, JB has his sights set on bringing his flavor of progressive dance music to festivals and nightclubs the world over. Today, JB lives in San Francisco where he continues to perform, produce, and progress. Connect with JB and jump on his mailing list for free downloads and DJ sets direct to your mailbox.

Vinkalmann

Musical Styles: Progressive House with an Electro edge

VINKALMANN sets are approachable by DJs and non-DJs alike. Expect something different.

“I can still clearly remember the day I discovered electronic music. Standing in front of a speaker (still my favorite place), at a Friends and Family party in San Francisco. Something clicked, it made sense. While a lot of memories fade over time, that one doesn’t. The hard part came next. I knew I needed more of this music, but where to start? It wasn’t until a co-worker gave me Dave Seaman’s Renaissance Awakening that I knew where I wanted to be, and have never looked back. I’m now the guy will reply with a blank stare if asked about current non-electronic music.”

Matt’s weapon of choice is Ableton Live. If one can think it, one can probably do it with this software, with enough work. Creativity is the only limiting factor. Matt’s been using Ableton for a three year’s at this point, and has only begun to crack into its possibilities. His mixes are frequently featured on Frisky Radio and the ProgressiveHouse.com’s ProgCast. He is a regular contributor at www.AbletonLiveDj.com, a website dedicated to increasing the knowledge pool centered around using Ableton Live as a DJ tool.

Matt got involved with Opulent Temple at Burning Man in 2005 and has been playing with them since. He digs the thriving underground scene in San Francisco and enjoys the open-minded, conscious people that are drawn to electronic music.

“I take pride in making each mix a standalone story. Making each mix its own ride allows me to not be tied down to a particular style, and keeps things fresh. I feel alive when mixing, and hope the listener enjoys what I’m trying to say.”
